Styled Bridal Portrait Shoot | Maple and Rose Inn

We love to participate in styled shoots, but we rarely get a chance to organize them! You know with us behind the wheel it is going to be a day full of gorgeous dresses and lots and lots of pink! The styled shoot took place in February at Maple and Rose Inn located in Merickville. The inspiration behind the shoot was a simple one, "let's show bridal portraits are happy, bright, airy, and so pink" 

A styled shoot let's venues, florists, models, artists, and other vendors bring a wedding day vision to life. We gathered a fantastic team of vendors to create a realistic bridal morning look. These fabulous images are brought to you by Amy Godin photography, she is a gem of a human and helps a shoot (or your wedding day) flow so smoothly.

We started off in the lounge area of Maple and Rose. It was so spacious and bright! It is the perfect area to have your brial party hang out in the morning of the wedding. No need to be crammed all into one room. Have your hair and makeup artists spread out and have room to work their magic. In our case, Lynn from Black Swan Beauty turned our model (and very own receptionist) Dali into a glowy bride. She's lounging in a satin robe from our very own designer, Stephanie Davis.

When deciding which gowns to bring, we wanted to focus on dresses that fit with the venues at home cozy comfy vibe. We decided to show off the dahlia gown and the gia gown. Both are floral a-line wedding dresses that are giving "oh me? the bride? I'm just a whimsical girl who looks like this everyday." Weeks before the styled shoot took place, we connected with one of our favourite local Ottawa florists, Nectar Florals.

We always know when we partner with Nectar, magic happens! They gave us this cascading tulip bouquet that is like nothing else we've ever seen. Of course, it matched both our gowns from our designers, Ouma and Kathryn Bass.

Then of course, this shoot wouldn't be us, without well.. us. From BTS of the perfect veil shot for videography to rearranging dress details to being just silly girls, Amy captured it all.

For couples who want a relaxed but aesthetic wedding morning, we hope this shoot with all of our favourite people can serve as inspiration.
